How Hot?

temp-price.jpg

I was a little disappointed the temp changed from 96 to 95 right before I snapped this pic at the corner of Huntington Street and Hamilton Avenue/the BQE. Still, pretty hot! How hot? Too hot for people to sit outside of Abilene on Court Street below at 6:30pm on a Saturday night. That's hot, people.

Redhook

So, I don't have the Photoshop skills that Dennis has, but I thought I'd share these three photos I pieced together from my time Saturday spent on the Red Hook pier. You need to click to enlarge :)

Da Beach

New Smyrna Beach, Florida, is a pretty sleepy little town, at least until the overflow from Bike Week in Daytona hits its placid shores. Sadly, my most recent trip to New Smyrna was post-bike week and things had quieted down quite a bit. Still, I got to sit in the sun, shop at overpriced antique shops with relatives and witness an honest to goodness $1 ice cream cone--who knew those even existed. Oh, and I got to eat rock shrimp for the first time: They taste like lobster, look like shrimp :)

Did he or didn't he?
GroundhogTake a deep breath ... If you like winter, you're in luck: Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadown, and winter will continue in its frigid state.  You can check out the story at CNN.  Sadly, the official site seems to be bogged down by traffic (Beware:  In the official photo, Phil has not been photographed on his best side.)
