I think baby coatimundis are just about the cutest animal in the whole world--OK, that's a gross overexaggeration, but they are pretty damn cute. Sadly, we did not see them in Cancun, but our lovely friends who graciously let us stay in their time share, took a side trip to Tulum, and saw these adorable creatures. Thanks G&B.

I know you're dying to get a glimpse at the dramatic post-hurricane footage I took while in balmy Cancun, but the truth is that the damage was minimal in scope. The most majestic destruction was this radio tower on the road from Tulum to Cancun. Aside from some overturned trees, messy beaches, snapped concrete power lines and twisted billboards, things looked pretty good considering the strength of the storm.
Perhaps one of the things I like doing most in foreign countries is climbing things in the name of tourism that one would never be allowed to climb in litigation-prone USA. I give you the ruins of Coba, from the ground looking up and the breathtaking view from on high.

Abrooklynlife is off to Cancun because we just can't get enough of countries that border the U.S., and we find beachy hurricane destinations strangely alluring.
