After a nice summer break, ABL:Radio Djs are back at it with our new monthly party at Royal Oak in Williamsburg. It occurs every 3rd Friday starting on 9/19/08. The party goes from 10pm until you can't shake your ass no more!
DJs Carrie White[noise], Dimples, Ladycréme, and Dennis The Menace bring you all the best disco, electro, acid and classics throughout the night.
So what's with the odd name you may ask? We're a fan of Dario Argento's vivid films and their accompying sound tracks. The last party series was named Suspiria so it made sense for us to use Tenebre. Most people who are familiar with Justice would recognize the sample in track "Phantom" which came from Tenebre.

This is your last chance to catch us before we go on vacation for the rest of summer.

Team Ladycréme has been busy. Last week, we posted their latest mix, Move Overload. This week, they've got an accompanying video. And Friday night (March 28th), they'll be playing live at Deity alongside DJs Bethany and Carrie Whitenoise. So, download the mix, watch the video and come support us at Brooklyn's new club.

Back in the 90's when I helped to throw a few parties here and there, we always picked someone to be the PPH (Peak Party Hours) DJ. This person had the distinction of having the highest energy level.
On March 28th, ABL:Radio DJs are starting a new local night at club Deity on Atlantic Ave. I'm hoping Ladycréme will be the PPH DJ since they always want to make me get up and throw my hands in the air like I've won the lotto.
This latest mix is more on the disco tip than you usually expect from these guys, but I guarantee it's every bit as good if not better as some of their others. It was originally set-up as a DJ exchange with our comrades over in Bologna, Italy (DJ Omnidrive and associates), and we should be getting a mix from them soon.
Enjoy, and come check out our new night "Suspiria" at Deity!

After a brief hiatus, the ABL:Radio crew is back to our regular DJ shenanigans. We're taking over the basement at a swanky new club on Atlantic Ave (between Hoyt and Bond) called Deity. The party will run on a bi-weekly basis if all goes as planned.
The DJ line-up for the first night will consist of Bethany Benzur, Ladycreme, and Carrie Whitenoise.

While the podcast has been on an extended vacation, the DJs have been hard at work. We two hard rockin', disco rompin' Ladycreme mixes for your enjoyment this week. The second one will follow later in another post, plus I have a few more in the works.
This Saturday will be the last Skylab event at Sputnik Bar. Ladycreme will be DJing alongside Dekker. It's sad to see the event end a year of ups and downs, but we had a great time. I'm currently looking for a bar in the Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Park Slope area which might be interested in hosting a DJ night.

If you have been following ABL:Radio for some time, you'll immediately recognize this week's sonic dyad, Ladycréme, as one of our regulars. This week's mix is jam packed with all the electro-analog-acid righteousness you need to jack your body and drive your festive ambitions though the next week. So, kick out the jamz and enjoy!

The dynamic duo that are Ladycréme will be performing along with Dekker at Skylab this Thursday night. The Skylab party is at Sputnik bar in Clinton Hill which is just minutes away from Williamsburg, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, and Park Slope on the G Train (Classon Ave stop). The bartenders are great, drinks cheap, and you can't beat the laid-back vibe. Check-out Ladycréme's previous appearances on ABL:Radio to get a preview of what's ahead.

Here we go with an exclusive Ladycréme follow-up to a mix that we posted yesterday, "The Saints Preserve Us." Today's episode continues the fervid pursuit of energizing synthesizer-based tracks. My personal favorites are the Telex, Robotnik, and Tyrell records.
It should also be noted that today is Neil's birthday, one member of the Ladycréme dynamic duo.
If you were subscribed to the RSS feed, iTunes would have auto-magically downloaded this days ago.

We have a special treat for you this week, its a Ladycréme double header! This first mix appeared on another podcast, "DJs Are Persons" out of Argentina about two weeks ago (definitely worth checking out), but we've decided to run it along with another new mix on ours this week.
Seems with each subsequent effort, these guys keep refining their exceptional sound. This mix packs enough Italo classics, analog synthesizer pop, savvy/sassy dance rock remixes, electro-house, and pure Brooklyn attitude to fuel your spirits for days. Bob Moog would definitely be proud.
Be on the lookout in the next day or so for the 2nd mix, "Venus Whisper," which is already available to podcast subscribers through the RSS feed. Also, you can purchase Ladycréme's 12" at Turntablelab NYC here http://www.turntablelab.com/vinyl/0/0/17898.html

Our plans for this week's podcast didn't quite workout, so from our archive, I've pulled out this mix by Ladycréme made back in October. They originally posted this mix at a lower bit rate on their myspace page, and I've re-encoded it at the highest VBR rate available for your maximum enjoyment.
As I've explained before with the last mix they composed for us, their shtick involves mixing analog synth heavy tracks and enhancing it by adding more, yes, more analog synth! ...and the results are ... well ... over the top!
Update: Now that I have the track listing, I wanted to point out that track number 12 is a Ladycréme original.

Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn is chock-full of surprises, like discovering your neighbors a few doors down are producing kick-ass tracks and smashing mixes. These neighbors we speak of are the honored guests on this week’s episode.
Ladycréme is a dynamic duo who has been performing live and DJing around NYC for the last 5 years together and individually. One of the other recent projects includes a foray into electro-pop with Wolfgang.
Under the Ladycréme moniker, they mix a sturdy blend of styles including classic acid-house, italo-disco, and modern electro. To maximize the effect, they layer live analog synths over mixed tracks. Inspiration is drawn from gaudy, opulent hairstyles of the rich 80's Hollywood house wives.
With great confidence, I can say you won't be disappointed with today's episode, especially if you've enjoyed Attitude City and Bethany's mixes. Your bad hairday frown will be turned upsidedown!
If you are wanting more, run over to Hypnote and buy their first 12" release "Motherload". Enjoy!
