Magic Mail

(All hail to the gods of the internets who make this and other web posts possible.)

This morning I woke up to the sounds of NPR's Studio 360. Kurt Anderson was discussing how art and life collide in the form of letters and envelopes sent through the mail--the magic of receiving a letter, of letting a letter go. The station had asked people to send artful correspondence its way. Posted on the radio show's website are photographs of some of the pieces it received. By far the coolest is the lacquered toastcard (click the slideshow to see all the art; the toast is slide 11 and 12).

Which had me think, I know a ton of creative people. So, in deference to 360 having the idea first, please send me your crazy, witty, serious, funny, colorful, creative or otherwise engaging correspondence. If you don't know my address, e-mail me, and I'll give it to you.

Now, go forth and be creative!

P.S. I will find a way to post and scan the coolest of the cool. And there will be prizes!
