The MTA: The Mind Boggles
There were tons of signs just like this all over the 14th Street station on Friday. All posted in exactly the same way. It's like they thought it would be a nice surprise when they finally faced them outwards: "Surpise! You're screwed!"

Let's have an acronym contest!
Here's my entry:
MTA = Making Transit Awful!
:D
Yeah! It's a mess.
I must say though, coming from Atlanta. MTA beats the shit out of the MARTA trains.
Sure, it's no London Tube or Paris Metro, but it is far cheaper.
And, uh, although it's much more entertaining to beat up on them for the occasional annoying delays - I am forty years old, I have lived in the city almost my entire post-collegiate life (yikes) and I've never owned one-a them there "car" thingies. The occasional rental covers my internal combustion needs quite well. And I suppose I have the (grumble grumble) MTA to thank for that.
I think just about everyone has mumbled M-T-friggin-A every once in a while.
There's always something to grumble about. I was on the L all weekend, and wasn't bothered or delayed one bit by what they were doing. I mean, I had to cross the platform at Bedford... ?
That didn't seem like too big of a deal to me.
Surprise-You're Screwed.
Hell yah, especially if you let as-hole Spitzer's last act as governor go on as scheduled.
He appointed some scab lawyer from the hood of White Plains to the NYS Thruway Board. Why? In return for the favor of donation to his campaign. google Brandon sall and Spitzer and you will see.
What can we do so we don't get screwed? And so Eliot doesn't get another one by us?
I signed this petition.
We have a petition created that we need you to sign.
The petition deals with Eliot Spitzer's last fraudulent action as governor. He appointed a wealthy campaign donor with no experience to the New York State Authority.
Please sign the petition.

You should too.
