Crimes of the Chalkboard
I had heard of the little girl in Park Slope who got in trouble for playing with chalk, but looks like Ellis G. recently got arrested for chalk work, too. A little common sense here, people.

and to think, that mean old lady on luquer could have called the cops on me during our stoop sale. man was i lucky that i was only yelled at. hah.

Ellis's 15 minutes are long over. The photo you linked to--outside the Domino's--he tags that wall repeatedly. As it's easier and cheaper to paint than power wash, that's what they've done--twice already. And they're not the only store owner forced to paint. The first time or two he "chalked" was clever. Now, a few years later, it's tired, boring and uninspired. While it is unfortunate that he got arrested, I really wish "Ellis G (c) 2010 Hi Mom!" considered how his "art" affects others. (And that he'd learn how copyrights work.)
It's amazing how crazy law enforcement will go over chalk. I guess they haven't figured out that real crimes don't involve drawing on sidewalks.
