Bump in the Hanley's Road
ABrooklynLife loves to love on P.J. Hanleys. And it appears that the Carroll Gardens neighborhood pub is taking a siesta while work is done. Where are the neighborhood regulars to fill us in on all the gory details?

They're making the restaurant separate from the bar i.e. turning it somewhat into two businesses.
Darn, is that all? I was hoping for another vitriolic comment thread to ensue covering all the aspects of who is, and who isn't a real Brooklynite.
they want to create two businesses, one to feed the gentrifying hipster population and one for the liquor soaked old school neighborhood Italians. is that what you were looking for?
That's a good start! Now we just need a "Hipster" and an "old-schooler" outside of Hanley's having a parking meter punch-fest!
Don't forget the new mommy groups who meet there during the daytime - not really hipsters anymore, but maybe we can call them yuppies? haha.
They made their bbq grill out of their own oil tanks salvaged from the basement, I cant imagine they cleaned them well enough for it to be safe eating. I remember them being proud of the accomplishment when mentioning it to us, but methinks its a little ill....
I've been to many a BBQ down south where someone used an old diesel tank. If you clean it and build a fire inside a few times, I'd say the 500+ degree heat should be enough to burn off any residual fuel.
I've seen BBQs made from far more questionable things like water heaters. (contain fiberglass and plastics)
And have a bit of sympathy for the boys who run the place. They got their front window smashed in early Sunday morning. Who knows how it happened but the entire pane was kicked/bashed in...never a pretty sight to arrive to when you run your own business.
that's terrible!
the windows are probably the result of yet another drunken evening outside of hanleys. i live down the street and there is a nightly fight or screaming match. hanging at hanleys every night of the week getting drunk can't be a good thing. this place needs to go...
First poster is right, they are seperating it out into two businesses. Hanley's and the a Brick oven Pizza Place, I forget what they are calling it though.
