New Something on Court Street?

Newstoreoncourt

Newstoreoncourt_2 The store that used to be Brooklyn Net Sellers at 463 Court Street and Luquer is undergoing a renovation. Based on how it's shaping up, I'd bet on boutique or cafe where nothing is prepared on site, but one never knows. Anybody have the inside scoop?

Oh, and any gossip on Leo's, the sports bar at Nelson and Court streets that's been about to open for ages?

Well it might not even be called Leo's anymore. The rather fancy looking sign that went up a month or so back is now gone. But some bar stools have arrived, though still wrapped up. Definitely no sign of kegs. Or chicken wings.

I thought Frankies was using that space for their office?

You definitely have a lot of content to work with covering the changing over of shops around here. Walking around yesterday after being gone a week felt like I might as well have been gone a year with all the new things that sprung up.

Anyone know what will become of the former OTB on Court and Sackett? Or how about the former Blockbuster?

Rumor mill: OTB to become "Chicken place" according to a worker. Blockbuster to become a McDonalds according to a real estate broker. I take those with a grain of salt.

I heard the OTB was to become a bistro - someone from manhattan was rumored to be interested in it. The other long-running (and more likely) rumor was Starbucks, and that D'Amico's has been using "old neighborhood" delay tactics, which have resulted in stop-work orders galore.

As for the Blockbuster site, i seriously doubt it would the Carroll Gardens Assn is pushing HARD for a supermarket, although it seems unlikely. There are a shitload of store vacancies down at this end of Court, north of Sackett.

The OTb is gong to be a French Bistro opened by the new hanley's owners, the space you had pictures of will be office space for frankies, the old cadet will becomea kitchen for frankies, and leo's, well, maybe the state liquor authority actually read the application for a license.
