Word on the Street: Fratelli Ravioli

A Very Special User just alerted me that Fratelli Ravioli at 347 Court Street is closed. Their lobster ravioli was quite delish. Any word on why?

great food, great service, but never seemed to be anyone there...not good for the bottom line, unfortunately...will be missed for the last minute pasta dinner selections

bummer... I'll miss that place.

hmmm, yikes... I thought it was just "renovations" - I depended on it for fresh pasta and parmesan and mozzarella.

Dennis said:

I hope it's just renovations.. but that place looks like it was recently renovated.

Well, as someone who has lived in the neighborhood 30+ years, Fratelli has not been around as long as "family businesses", like, say, Esposito's or Caputo's, maybe they started doing "too well"...Anyway, fratelli is the Domino's of italian specialties to the local's who's moms could cook better than the franchise's...

Relax - there's another "Frat's" down on Court and Wykoff. They're just as rude there too. Caputos rocks my world.

They also sell their raviolis in grocery stores. I wonder if that will be affected. I think the Key Food on 5th ave has them.

they closed because they all moved to Arizona and one son of the owner was found guilty in a fondling and kissing a minor in one of the stores...so he is now a sex offender so they hightailed to Arizona... they are lowlifes they had all those stores in Manhattan and they cornered the owners of the stores 4 of them into buying Ravioli at higher prices and eventually they all closed .... they are very greedy people and bad business men .... i was born and raised in the carroll gardens area for 35 yrs..

Oh Boy...I have worked for them for years, when I was in H.S, and so have many of my girlfriends. They are a great family and please don't believe all the rumors. Over 25 years in business not an easy task. They are a great part of the neighborhood's history but met their demise trying to take their business to the next level. I wish them the best of luck and they always said they wanted to move to AZ.
