Shooting Stars
Over the course of the weekend, my friends and I saw five shooting stars in total. Four at Harry's Water Taxi beach Saturday night and one on the roof of our friends building on Sunday. Did anybody else notice an ususual number of shooting stars? Was there a meteor shower? When I first told our group I'd seen a shooting star, no one believed me! And I was so shocked, I fogot to make a wish.

This weekend was the Perseid meteor shower, if I remember correctly. I wish I'd gotten a chance to go out and look for them, it must have been beautiful.
I saw one on Friday night from my roof in Williamsburg. I wish I'd known it was the Perseid this weekend. I'd have found somewhere to sit out and watch.
That was the first one I have ever seen. I was so sure that I was never, ever going to see one that I still didn't believe it was real. It just happened so fast! I'm glad you verified it here though. Now I know I HAVE seen a shooting star.

Yep, there has been a meteor shower over the weekend. I met a guy in central park who was looking up at the sky while standing next to a camera on a tripod, and being chatted up by a woman who was asking him if a certain time portal opening might be affected by or have something to do the meteor shower (Meanwhile, the woman's 7 year old son kept saying, "Mom, there's no portals!" while trying to lead her away), and asked when the meter show was due. It was underway, he told me, but the sky wasn't dark enough yet.
