Florida
There are many nice things about the Gulf beaches of Florida: white sand, warm water, fresh seafood, to name a few. However, one of my favorites is Dippin' Dots. According to Dippin' Dots website, you can get the little tiny balls of ice cream locally at, uh, the venerable locations that include Madame Tussauds, Madison Square Garden, and Circle Line Cruises, but to me Dippin' Dots and Florida will always be one in the same. It's an overpriced concession that I first enjoyed many years ago while working on my sun-glow, and despite its chain status and rather hefty price, I rush to it every year like a moth to the flame. How do they make those balls so small?

i can't agree with you about the ice cream of the future (are they still marketting themselves that way?) - it always feels to me like the most disgusting part of tapioca pudding without the slightly mitigating enjoyment of pudding. i tried to give Sadie some at Turner Field last weekend; she refused to open her mouth. Babies have deep, wise intuition.
Yeah, not a huge fan of dippin' dots either. I opted for Bruster's instead.
Please stop lying to these people. There is absolutely nothing good about Florida's Gulf beaches. I grew up in Ft. Myers. The entire Gulf Coast is like a huge cultural black hole.
P.S. What part of the GC are you in? Ft. Myers, Naples, Sanibel, Sarasota?
Actually, we were around Destin/Ft. Walton (an even bigger cultural black hole, or suburb of Atlanta depending on how you look at it).
My step-mom's family is from around Port Charlotte, near Ft. Myers. They all packed-up and moved after the last major Hurricane.
I didn't say I'd want to LIVE there, but to visit and just sit on the beach for seven days isn't bad at all :)
Dippin Dots is patented and then franchised. That is why it is expensive. The earliest patent I could find was 1998 which means that the price may come down in 2018...of course there are ancillary patents that may keep the price artificially high forever.
I'm amazed that anyone can get a patent for squirting ice cream into liquid nitrogen.
Whoa! this looks like my family's hometown in FWB! This would be less bizarre if I didn't live in CG now, what must be a few blocks away from you.
Yeah, we were within walking distance of Snapperheads Bar and Grill, if that rings any bells. It's been a while since I drank in a trailer!
A double wide no less. . .
