BAPLab: Electronic Music and Digital Art Festival

Back in early June, while traipsing around del.icio.us searching for new and interesting music I came across two sites, Bushwick Art Project (BAP) and Percussion Lab. The groups are both based in Brooklyn, and promote techno and IDM music, among other things.

Since my discovery, I’ve been keeping and eye on BAP for its next event and a chance to check their music-art-digital conglomerate in person. This Saturday, July 22nd from 4pm to 6am at 3rd Ward in Williamsburg, is my (and your) chance, as the group hosts BAP Lab, the first in a series of 21st century art salons.  Ten dollars gets you a full day of music; for directions, go here.

Clink1 Of special note for this installation is a performance by Insideout and Camea of Clink Records. Crafty and I know Insideout from our days back in Atlanta. He definitely knows his minimal techno and always puts on a very focused, intense performance. Percussion Lab will also be performing at the BAPLab event, along with a host of other artists--and it’s not just music, there’s photography, new media, video, and a digital marketplace.
