ABL:Radio - The 47 Record Sermon - Mixed by DJ Jason Schell

| | Comments (6)

47recordsermonThis is Jason's second guest appearance on the podcast. Jason hails from Seattle, Wa., where he's an artist, an art teacher and a DJ. Jason, come on down, welcome back to ABrooklynLife!

For his first appearance, we discussed the meaning of a turntablist. I'll trust you remember the particulars, but do enjoy the wild ride through hip-hop and booty shakin' musical history as Jason takes you through a dizzying 47 records in 80 minutes.

For additional education, you non-Southerners--maybe it's not just a Southern term?--might want to check out the ever evolving definition of "shorty" as it appears in many of the compositions you'll hear today.

As always, enjoy!

Jason gave us a few bonus mixes I'll be posting in the next few weeks. One is a 20min scratchfest of rock power cords and the other is a 40min session of oldschool funk/breakbeat records.
