Sharpen Your Forks: Dine In Brooklyn

UPDATE: Go here for updated info on Dine In Brooklyn.

According to the Brooklyn tourism calendar, the next Dine In Brooklyn (Brooklyn's answer to Manhattan's Restaurant Week) starts on April 3rd and runs through the 11th. No word on participating restaurants, but I did see something posted about it in Crave's window. These reservations tend to go quickly, so might be worth calling up the favorites (Blue Ribbon, etc.) to nab a spot now. Don't forget to specify you're making reservations for Dine In Brooklyn, as some of the restaurants have constraints on which days or type of meal is served (lunch vs. dinner).

So what's the deal, are meals specially priced to encourage more patrons? I had been completely unaware of Restaurant Week's hype. Probably because I eat in restaurants anyway, promo or not.

Went last year to Blue Ribbon for Bk's restaurant week- and was not impressed at all! We biked over their on a hot day in the middle of Spring expecting a menu appropriate for the season, especially since they seem to pride themselves on quality seasonal ingredients. Instead, we got what seemed like leftovers from Winter: thick gamey stew, chewy pork belly, and an unispired fruit cobbler for dessert. Has anyone been to Crave though? I'm always hesitant because it seems so pricey and no one in the hood that I know has actually eaten there....

I like Crave, but I think it is overpriced. That said, restaurant week would be a great time to try their stuff as it's cheap(er).
