Mexico: In Pictures

100659469_2f1e9dbfc8A few weeks ago, ABrooklynLife had the enjoyable experience of quitting the city for Tulum, a small, sunny beach town in Mexico, two hours north south of Cancun. Let me assure you, nothing was more jarring the day we returned than riding to cheek-to-cheek on a very packed F train for the expressed purpose of traveling to work at a beige cubicle in midtown. I'll be posting photos of our travels over the next few days.  The photo at left was taken by friends as they flew into Cancun. More to come.

How did you find the rebuilding coming? I would be curious to hear if it is back to normal as I am in the process of trying to book a trip to Tulum and/or Playa.

Tulum was untouched, but Cancun was definitely torn-up. The hurricane in July hit Playa Del Carmen, also missing Tulum.

Playa del Carmen was just fine as of last week too. I might, however think twice about renting a car out of Cancun like we did. It had some weird problems possibly from flooding/storm damage.

is that my photo?! it was the first view of Cancun we had from the plane. Not bad, eh?

As for the rebuilding, you can see just how beautiful Mexico is after Wilma by looking at these photos: http://www.flickr.com/groups/afterwilma/

Yep, Moish, you are the friend of which we speak. You take some great plane shots!
