In the Beginning
There was gentrification, and it was good. [intelligent gentrification theory via Daily Heights]
"Man, this whole nabe has gentrified all to hell. I remember when it was a just cooled mass of magma and noxious gasses. Those days rocked. Only the hard-core lived here, and the vibe was great ... I had this kick-ass bit of rock, but then these yuppie lung-fish started waddling in on their fancy-pants fin-legs and drove up the cost of everything ..." more

Ah ha ha...!
File under: Missed Headline Opportunities
I want to go on record that I have no problem with all the white people and non-italians moving in. But did you have to bring that Dunking Donuts with you?!??
Huh? Naw man.. that punk crashed the party.. we didn't ask him to come along..
Is it ok to admit that the American Apparel irks me more than the DD...?
Yes, admitting is the first step...
...that I like donuts.
American Apparel irks me more than the DD
Of course. On the one hand, you've got a megachain that happens to serve overrated coffee and tasty bits of sugar and fat. On the other, you've got a minichain that reminds you that if you like those tasty bits of sugar and fat, there is no way in hell that you are hip or slim enough to wear their flimsy duds.
I still prefer Krispy Kreme for my tasty bits of sugar and fat, but I'm a Southern Boy.
Agreed DopeOnTheSlope! Man -o- man, I used to live across the street from the main Krispy Kreme factory in Atlanta. You want to talk about dangerous! Nothin' like driving home at 2am and seeing the "Hot Donuts Now" sign turned on.
