Delancey Bust

| | Comments (2)

So, I'm at  The Delancey last night, checking out the super cool band My Victoria playing at the Death Disco night. I listen to the band, I have drinks downstairs, I have drinks upstairs, and then I leave shortly after midnight. Just moments after I leave the club, the night's promoter B.P. Fallon gets hauled off by the cops in handcuffs. A couple more are escorted out by the cops as well. It's worth noting that Fallon looks like an incredibly interesting character and has been doing these Death Disco nights in London, too.

The photos below are of My Victoria, who did not get arrested, but they did play a damn good show!

ok..lemme get behind this before the dreaded hipster rumor mill starts...

Last wed, in response to the increasin drug O.D.'s happening in the LES (..anyone remember "Black Tape" in the 80's?..)the Cops were out all week/weekend in undercover force to see if they could bust anyone for anything, giving the appearance of "cracking down "...an undercover smelled someone's pot-smoking (NOT BP)near the dj booth downstairs and wrapped up all in the general vicinity..if it had been on the street, the offending party would have gotten a summons and sent on their way but the cops want to look as if they're earning their bread, so theey made a big stinkola about the whole thing...everybody's out including BP with little more thatn an upset stomach from the rancid bologna sandwiches they give you @ 100 Centre st courthouse...Dark Room also got a vist by about 40 boys in blue but no one seems to be carping on that piece of info..do I detect a vendetta/bias in the air?..so what if I do..DEATH DISCO is still alive and kicking and

will be back in full swing wed..so you all best get on board..

Not a vendetta at all--more shock that the cops would come inside a club like that and bust people. I was pretty sure it had something to do with drugs, but it's one thing to say some people got arrested and quite another to speculate on why. It is, above all, a kinda strange thing to witness in a club. And I hope Death Disco keeps going strong :)
