I was working at CNN.com in 1999 as a webmaster when I saw the warehouse fire where the crane operator was trapped. I said, "holy shit, I know where that is.. looked out the window of the CNN newsroom and saw the fire." Riding back home from work on my bike 6 hours later, I stopped by the warehouse which was still on fire. The flames were so hot, neighboring homes about 200 feet away caught fire. Almost the entire neighborhood of Cabbagetown was at risk.
