Ipod Update
Silly, silly me. I thought I could just waltz right into the Apple store, wait in an abnormally long line, and get a new ipod. O dear me, no. Turns out spots at Apple's genius bar (it doesn't take a genius to figure out that this thing is broken, I might add) start going at 6am on the website and are usually gone by 10am. Although for an extra $99 (!) , you can reserve a spot up to seven days in advance. Does this seem wrong to anyone? Apple, I love you dearly, but OPEN UP ANOTHER FREAKIN' STORE IN MANHATTAN! It just doesn't seem right that I have to wake up early just so you can replace my lemon of an ipod.

Why not just do what folks nowhere near an Apple Store do and call 1-800-MY-APPLE?
i made my apple store reservation the day before - is that over now??
A) It's really lame that the thing broke after only 5 months.
B) It's even more lame that you've paid for Apple Case and you still go through this hassle.
Dell will come out to your home or office to fix stuff (though I admit their customer care over the phone is excruciating)
i *think* apple is opening a store around the flatiron building.
When the touch wheel on my iPod broke after, count 'em, 2 weeks I just went to the webpage and filled out a repair form. They sent a preposted package which I slid the ipod in and mailed back. Then they mailed a new one. The packages were also sent express so the whole thing took under a week, was free, and no lines.
