In the Bag
So now that I have a laptop, I've gotta get a bag for transportation purposes. And so I'm soliciting advice from my faithful readers. ManhattanUser'sGuide recently did a feature on laptop bags, which got me started. (Check out this bag blog that MUG featured.) I would love comments on the two I found below or suggestions of better options. Basically I'm looking for a very lightweight bag that's not too bulky with a semi inspired design.
Timbuk2 (It comes in red, orange, blue, black and the kelly green below. The Apple site shows it in silver, which is cool.)
Sumdex NeoMetro (It also comes in other colors, but this is the coolest. The website says it has a shoulder strap ...)
STM has two designs: Medium Alley and Medium Wave

I've had a Timbuk2 messenger bag for almost 5 years. Excellent workmanship, very durable. Sometimes I wish it would fall apart so I have a reason to get another bag. The "build it yourself" option is fun and a little dangerous. Before you know it, you've spent $180 on a bag.
If you ever get a messenger bag, I highly recommend the water resistant lining, it has saved a few laptops when I was stuck outdoors in heavy Georgia spring storms.
Out of the three you posted, I am definitely partial to the Timbuk2. I've been in the market for something to replace my trusty Kensington Apple-logo'd backpack. It has served me well but is bulky and ugly, and I hate carrying both a purse and a bulky backpack to meetings around campus.
I thought I'd found a candidate when I saw this guy in a pink and black circle pattern in the back of Macworld:

Unfortunately a trip to the Acme website revealed a price that was anything but right.
I love The Bag Blog. (In fact, I sent the Bag Blog link to MUG when I saw their original laptop bag feature.) Anyway - if you want to check out the Timbuk2 bags, they have a few at A.I. Friedman's on W. 18th. They look great. I wish I could rationalize purchasing one... but I rarely tote my laptop around.
