Good vs. Evil

I'm going to go ahead and spoil it for you, good won. But that really doesn't diminish the story of Chengwin (and you should click through to read the well fleshed out story of his conception). Saturday, an epic battle took place. A battle between the forces of half-chicken half-penguin and the forces of half-chicken half-skunk. The parties assembled at Houston and Lafayette for Homecoming 2004. Pom-poms were distributed. Cheerleaders assembled. A band played. Surrounded by hundreds of screaming fans Chengwin made his way to the field (several blocks down Broadway and then a couple of blocks east--totally blocking traffic, it was great). The fight was intense, and completely out of range for people not in the front row or taller than six feet. A large plastic "football" wildly veered between goal posts.  We cheered. We made disparaging comments. Tourists blindly videotaped. It was fun! (And I got to get the best "bear" hug of my life). And then the really confused police came. Check the photo album for some not-so-great shots.

WEIRD! I would've loved to see the looks on the tourists faces. . .
